Syros is the capital island of the Cyclades complex, in the Aegean Sea.

Walk around Hermoupolis to feel the grandiose atmosphere and glory. Enjoy the sea and the sun in the beaches of the island. Take a tour around cultural and historical places, museums, living history museums and art galleries, buildings, structures and cultural events. Visit the Industrial Museum of Hermoupolis to learn about the industrial heritage and shipping history of the town. The Apollo Theatre, a building influenced by Italian design architectural patterns such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The Holy Temple of Saint Nicholas, an orthodox church in honour of the patron saint of the capital of Syros, Hermoupolis. The temple is located very close to Miaoulis Square and the Apollo Theatre, and it is included among the most important attractions of Syros.
Another place to visit is Ano Syros, the oldest settlement of the island. At the top of the hill you will find the beautiful church of Saint George. The Catholic cathedral. A few meters away you can visit the Capuchin Monastery, built in 1633. Then you will come across the Piazza, with its public buildings, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Finally, the Museum M. Vamvakari, which was founded in 1995, is housed at the heart of Ano Syros in a majestic old house, and it is definitely another place you should also see.

The island can be reached by plane from Athens Airport and Thessaloniki Airport, and ferry or speedboat from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. East of Syros you can find the following islands: Andros, Mykonos, Tinos, Naxos, and Paros. To the west: Sifnos, Kythnos, Serifos, Kea. To the north: Gyaros.
